DOMINIQUE THORMANN IS APPOINTED CHAIRMAN AND CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER OF RCI BANQUE FROM OCTOBER 5, 2009


From October 5, 2009 Dominique Thormann is appointed Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of RCI Banque. He replaces Philippe Gamba, who becomes special advisor to the Senior Management of Renault. Dominique Thormann will report to Thierry Moulonguet, Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer.


Born on August 2, 1954 in Paris, Dominique Thormann is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University (USA) where he obtained a BA in International Relations in 1975. He is also a graduate of JHU School of Advanced International Studies in Washington D.C. and he obtained a diploma in international relations in Bologna, Italy in 1977. He started his career as a credit analyst in the Chase Manhattan Bank in New York in 1979, going on to hold several international positions in Rome, Milan (Italy) and Paris. He joined Renault Credit International in 1989 as International Treasurer before taking charge of Investor Relations for Renault in 1994. In 1999, he joined Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. in Tokyo (Japan) as Deputy General Manager, Investor Relations and Financial Strategy. He went on to become Vice President, Global Communications and Investor Relations, before becoming Senior Vice President in charge of Administration and Finance for Nissan Europe in 2004, a post based in Paris. On July 1, 2006 he joined Nissan North America as Senior Vice President in charge of Administration and Finance.


Born on January 7, 1947 in Paris (France), Philippe Gamba is a graduate of the IAE. He joined Renault in 1971 as a controller in the European export department. He subsequently became marketing director of Renault UK (1975) and branch manager in London (1979) and Stockholm (1980).He became managing director of Renault Italy in 1985 and vice president, marketing in 1989. In 1994, Philippe Gamba was appointed Senior Vice President, Market Area, Europe and became a member of the Renault Management Committee. In 1999, he became Chairman and CEO of Renault Crédit International, renamed RCI Banque in 2002. Philippe Gamba is also CEO of Diac (French subsidiary of RCI Banque).
