RCI Banque has a forward-thinking training policy, and for many years has made the conscious decision to invest in this area, to help departments create their own action plans and develop the competencies of their employees.
Training Statistics
In the year 2007, RCI spent 3.49 % of payroll on training and development, and DIAC, its French subsidiary, spent close to 4.45%.
For reference, the training expenditure required by law in France is only 1.6% of payroll.
67 % of DIAC's employees took at least one training course in 2007, and benefited from an average of 30.2 hours (four days') training.
In 2001, DIAC is estimated to have spent 5.3 % of payroll, with 5.6 % as the figure set for 2002.
Main types of training activities at RCI
- Training relating to company business activities: E.g.: sales negotiation, financial analysis, products and tools, IT training, accounting and financial training.
- Cross-disciplinary training, to support larger projects and business development areas : E.g.: - Management training to tackle various issues: staff management, project and alteration management, 360-degree assessment, coordination of service providers. - Language training, particularly in English, to keep in step with the internationalization of the group - Assistance with various projects: the Euro, new messaging systems, deployment of new information systems or structures
- Personal development training : E.g.: leading meetings, spoken and written communication skills, public speaking
- Vocational training qualifications : to respond to the particular needs of individuals
- Vocational certificate or degree courses , to assist employees' career development. E.g.: employees currently moving to managerial positions (around 10 per year), or those wishing to obtain further postgraduate qualifications to enhance career mobility with Renault.
Current and future training developments
The RCI group monitors and adapts to the latest developments in the training market. Within this framework, the company tests and develops new teaching practices :
- Creation of resource centers at sites with over 100 employees, setting up of self-training sessions, workshops, and assistance from specialized tutors in subjects such as: English, office skills, products and services, etc.
- Development of E-learning, in the form of CAT (Computer Aided Teaching) and distance learning.
